Gate Repair Before & After in Los Angeles, CA

Photos tell the truth faster than any service description we could write. Across Los Angeles, from hillside properties in Silver Lake to flat lots in the Valley, we document every job before the first tool comes off the truck and again after the final adjustment. The images below are representative of the work we do, so you can see what actually changes when a gate gets repaired properly instead of patched.

Swing Gate Motor Replacement in Los Feliz

The original motor had burned through its capacitor for the second time in three years, and the arm bracket was wallowed out from the gate being forced open during a power outage. We pulled the old unit, welded a new bracket plate, and installed a fresh motor matched to the gate’s weight and travel. The gate now opens at full speed without the three-second hesitation it had when the capacitor was dying.

Sliding Gate Track Repair in Van Nuys

A broken roller had been grinding against the track for months, carving a groove that made the gate jump every few feet. We replaced all four rollers, ground the track smooth, and reset the gate’s stop points. Before the repair, the gate sounded like a shopping cart with a bad wheel; after, it rolls quietly enough that the neighbor’s dog stopped barking at it.

Photo-Eye Misalignment Fix in Koreatown

The gate kept reversing halfway through its close cycle for no obvious reason. We found one photo-eye, the infrared beam that stops the gate if something crosses the path, knocked about two inches out of alignment by a landscaping crew. We reset both eyes, tightened the brackets, and photographed the new beam alignment for the job record. The gate now closes fully on the first attempt.

Welded Gate Frame Repair in Echo Park

A bottom hinge had torn away from the frame, leaving the gate sagging low enough to scrape the driveway every time it swung. We cut out the fatigued section, welded in a new mounting plate, and reinforced the frame corner with a gusset. The gate sits square again, and the hinge no longer carries more weight than it was designed for.

Keypad and Access Control Overhaul in Encino

The existing keypad had failed so completely that the homeowner had been propping the gate open with a landscaping block for two weeks. We removed the dead keypad, installed a new unit wired into the existing access control board, and programmed a fresh set of entry codes. The gate now opens from the car without anyone getting out, and the block went back to the garden where it belonged.

Gate Opener Arm Replacement in Sherman Oaks

The opener arm had bent during a windstorm because the gate’s close pressure was set too high and the arm was absorbing force it was never meant to take. We replaced the arm, reset the pressure limit to the manufacturer’s specification for the gate’s weight, and verified the full travel range twice. The gate now moves through its cycle without the shudder it had developed.
