Meet the Los Angeles Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Los Angeles

We run a lean crew in Los Angeles, and that’s deliberate. Every technician who shows up at your gate has been background-checked, uniformed, and given the same instruction Adrian Vance has handed down since 2014: name the part, state the condition, give the number, and move on. No upselling scripts. No invented problems. What unites this team is a shared annoyance at sloppy gate work, the kind where a bracket gets bent back into shape instead of replaced, or a motor gets swapped when the limit switch was the problem all along. We’d rather fix it right and show you the photo log than rush through and hope you don’t notice.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair Los Angeles for eight years, longer than anyone else on the crew besides Adrian. He came up through commercial access-control work, which means he still thinks in wiring diagrams and dislikes guessing. His specialty is gate motor and opener diagnostics across all nine brands we service, LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. If your gate opens halfway and reverses, Marcus is the one who finds out whether it’s the force setting, the photo-eye alignment, or a dying capacitor. He keeps a notebook of every strange failure he’s seen, and yes, it’s organized by brand. Outside of work, he rebuilds vintage audio amplifiers, which explains a lot about his patience with finicky circuit boards.

Elena R. – Senior Installer

Elena joined the team five years ago after a decade in ornamental iron and structural welding. She handles most of our full gate installations in Los Angeles, along with the heavier welding jobs that other companies sub out. Her specialty is steel and wrought iron fabrication, and she’s the one who makes sure a new gate hangs true the first time, with no dragging, no sagging, and no arguing with the latch. She also handles the service documentation on her jobs, the photo record under Haven Standard Clause 4 (Evidence on every job) is hers to protect. When she’s not installing gates, she’s welding sculpture out of scrap steel in her garage in the Valley. Some of it is genuinely good.

Sam D. – Service Coordinator

Sam is the voice you’ll hear when you call (213) 674-2473 at two in the morning, because a live person answers 24/7. No voicemail loop, no callback queue. Sam has been with us for four years and knows the Los Angeles service area well enough to give you an honest arrival window, not a vague “sometime today.” Before dispatch, he sends you the technician’s name and photo so you know who’s coming. He also tracks the written quotes, so if you got a price from another company, Sam is the one who’ll set up a free second opinion review of that paperwork. Off the clock, he plays in a surf rock band that plays a lot of free shows in Highland Park.

Diego M. – Apprentice Technician

Diego is our newest crew member, six months in, training under Marcus on motors, openers, and access control. Before joining Vance Gate Repair Los Angeles, he worked in low-voltage electrical installation, so he came in already comfortable with wire pulls and connections. He’s not yet dispatched solo on complicated automation jobs, but you’ll see him on two-man installs and repairs, carrying the tool bag, photographing adjustments, and learning the trade the way Adrian did, in the field with documentation of everything. Diego’s the one who double-checks the photo logs before they’re handed over. He grows peppers on his apartment balcony and takes them seriously in a way that’s honestly impressive.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a slogan we hang on a wall. It’s a working checklist that every technician on this team follows on every single job in Los Angeles. Clause 1 (Have it in writing) means the price is flat, written down, and handed to you before any work begins, no “call for a quote,” no surprise invoice at the end. Clause 4 (Evidence on every job) means you get a documented photo record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was replaced, filed in the job record and left with you. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise means if a repair isn’t right within one full year, we make it right at no additional charge. That last one is why we don’t rush. Marcus, Elena, Sam, Diego, and Adrian all understand the real cost of doing a job twice, and none of us want to pay it. Since 2014, the crew has completed 22,000+ gates repaired and installed, every one with a written price before the job started and a documented record when the technician left.
